BUSINESS OBJECTIVES
The Water and Sewerage Corporations Act 2008 specifically provides that the principal objectives of the Corporation are as follows: -
(a) in its region, to promote the efficient delivery of water supply and provision of sewerage services;
(b) in its region, to encourage water conservation, demand management of water and the re-use of water on an economic and commercial basis;
(c) to be a successful business, and, to this end-
(i) to operate its activities in accordance with good commercial practice;
(ii) to maximise sustainable returns to its members.
These principle objectives are confirmed in the Shareholders' Letter of Expectation provided to the Corporation by the owner Councils.
