Northern Regional Corporation Board Members

Ben Lomond Water has an expert board comprising six members, including a chairperson and three directors who are common to all three regional water corporations along with two regional directors chosen for their connection to the community.

All board members have been selected for their technical and professional expertise and experience.

Common Directors

Mr Brian Bayley

Mr Bayley is the Victorian based former CEO of Melbourne Water. His industry knowledge and change management experience will be invaluable in the new corporations. He is a past Chairman of the Water Services Association of Australia.

Mr Miles Hampton

Mr Hampton is a director of a number of Tasmania national and international businesses and he is presently the Chair of Hobart Water. He is the former CEO and Managing Director of Roberts Limited.

Dr Dan Norton

Dr Norton’s current directorships include the Chair of the Tasmanian Ports Corporation and the Menzies Research Institute. He is a former CEO and Managing Director of the Hydro-Electric Corporation and Aurora Energy and in this sector was also Chairman of NEMMCO (the national electricity market operator).

Ms Sarah Merridew

Ms Merridew has vast experience in finance, treasury, accounting and commercial matters. She is a Director of Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees and a number of other regional and national bodies. She is also a former Director of the Tasmanian Public Finance Corporation (Tascorp).

Ms Liz Swain

Ms Swain has a distinguished technical and management career with Rio Tinto at Bell Bay and has been recognised with a Tasmanian Business Woman of the Year award. Her many interests presently include Chair of Esk Water where she is the longest serving board member.
