Chairman Appointed
The Chairman of the regional water and sewerage entities has now been appointed and it is expected that finalisation of the common and regional directors will occur within the next fortnight. Geoff Willis is the inaugural chair. The process for selection of CEO’s for the new organisations will commence once the Board positions are settled
Consultancy to Undertake the Due Diligence Appointed
A consortium comprising KPMG, Pitt and Sherry and Gilbert + Tobin have been awarded the consultancy to undertake the due diligence associated with the water and sewerage reform. The process has commenced with a trial of three councils – Hobart, Burnie and Northern Midlands to be undertaken prior to the broader process across all councils and bulk water authorities. The due diligence project is due to be finalized by 24 December
